Sun Salutations - Surya Namaskar

Yoga for Performers

"You must approach your yoga practice with reverence and gratitude and love. It’s very much like entering a temple."  – Amrit Desai

Before You Start

This yoga sequence is recommended for those that sing, that act, that dance or that just make a living being in front of the public on a regular basis.  Generally speaking, that includes most of us!

This practice creates heat and strength in your body. Remember to exhale, honor the transitions between each pose and have fun!

Note: All Asanas (including Sun Salutations) should be done in loose, comfortable clothing, in bare feet (no shoes or socks please) and preferably on a non-slip surface like a yoga mat, thin carpet or hardwood flooring. We recommend shopping at YogaAccessories.com for your yoga mat and props.  Also, yoga should ideally be practiced with an empty stomach and it is best to wait 2 hours or more after eating a light meal before practicing yoga.
